Hello,
My name is Miss Dallas Cabrices and this is my second year at F.AVE. I am a former graduate at the University of Georgia with a Masters of Arts in Teaching. Go Dawgs! I was a former employee at Clairemont Elementary, one of our neighboring schools within the City of Decatur. I grew up in Warner Robins, Georgia, home to Robins Air Force Base. The most exciting part about growing up in a military town is the authentic restaurants that I grew up eating at (Greek, Thai, Korean, to name a few favorites). This helped me cultivate a love for eating diverse cuisines and an aspiration to travel.
Some of my interests are being green, cooking, drinking expresso, consignment shopping and selling, exploring online blogs and articles, eating healthy and supporting local farmers, and exercising. Oh, and did I mention... Teaching 4th grade!
Three years ago, I visited New Zealand and student taught in 4th grade. It was an incredible experience that I will never forget! The picture shown above is me at Milford Sound in the South Island of New Zealand. This country has an admirable culture for celebrating diversity and keeping its natural habitat beautiful and untouched! This past summer, I spent a few weeks in Italy, where I was able to witness ancient jaw dropping Roman structures, and was overfed fresh tomatoes and homegrown pastas. This was my first time to Europe and I plan on going back. I aspire to travel each summer and to always bring back pieces of the world to my classroom.
Some of my hopes and dreams for this school year include building strong and lasting relationships with each and every one of my students, creating a safe community, and making sure each child leaves this year with strong connections to academics, world, and humanity.
I am looking forward to guiding our new class into a remarkable and extraordinary learning journey this year.
Kia Ora (Be Well, Be Healthyl)
